A 34-year-old man from Sawantwadi has been arrested on charges of stealing four mobile phones worth Rs 1.5 lakh from tourists at Arambol beach.
A complaint had been filed by Shashank Rai of Delhi on September 15, stating that his two mobile phones had been stolen when he had kept them on the beach to go for a swim.
The accused Galib Chand Koudi (34) was nabbed with help of technical surveillance. A police team led by PI Sachin Lokre has recovered four mobile phones of different brands from the accused.
