Two persons from Ponda taluka are reported to have drowned in the Valvanti river at Virdi-Sankhali, when they went to bathe in the river.
According to Bicholim police, the deceased have been identified as Rajendra Krishna Kudalkar, (57) of Bandora and his nephew Sparsh Sanjay Naik (12) of Kundaim.
Both the bodies were recovered by the police and have been sent for an autopsy at the Goa Medical College Hospital in Bambolim. Bicholim police are investigating into the matter.
