Manoj Naik was on Wednesday elected unopposed as sarpanch of Marcaim Panchayat.
The post of the sarpanch was vacant since the last one month after former sarpanch Savita Madkaikar had resigned.
At the meeting convened to elect the new sarpanch, former sarpanch Shailendra Panajikar proposed the candidature of Manoj, which was seconded by Dilip Naik.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarpanch Naik said his endeavour will be to develop all the panchayat wards by taking all the panchas into confidence and assured to complete all pending works.
Deputy sarpanch Shaila Naik, panchas Savita Madkaikar, Shailendra Panajikar, Dilip Naik and others were present on the occasion.
Swapnil Nageshkar from Block Development Office was the presiding officer.
