It may be recalled that Mapusa Police had booked the accused for sexually assaulting an 18-year-old girl on March 19.
The accused, a neighbour of the victim, had entered the girl’s house at midnight and forced himself on her, police had said.
The accused then threatened the girl and her family if they revealed the incident to anybody.
Mapusa Police had booked an offence under Sections 452, 341, 506 and 376 of IPC on Tuesday. The accused, who was absconding, was arrested on Wednesday.
Mapusa Police is investigating the case.
