Blaming the BJP-led government for using the carrot and stick method to harass voters in Mapusa, Nationalist Congress Party General Secretary, Sanjay Barde said the Mapusa Municipal Council has issued notices to some people for constructing illegal houses in the jurisdiction of Mapusa council just when the municipal election where due.
“Notices have been issued to owners living in comunidade land in Mapusa, Khorlim and Cunchelim calling them for inquiry on January 20, 2021. The action of the civic body at a time when civic elections are due smacks of harassment to influence the voters,” Barde said.
He said the NCP condemns the action of the authorities and will back the aggrieved people.
