Mapusa court adjourns Louis Berger case to August 9

When the case came up for hearing on Friday, the alleged accused Margao MLA filed an application under section 319 of the CrPC, 1973.

Margao MLA in his application said he was innocent and if he was being prosecuted on the basis of material before the court then the company and its employees who allegedly funded the project and transferred the funds to India through hawala should also be included as accused.

However, both the alleged accused have claimed that they were innocent and would face trial.

Representatives of the ED, Special Public Prosecutor Siddharth Samant were present in the court while Adv PS Rao Adv S Sardesai appeared for the Margao MLA and Alemao respectively.
