Mapusa police nab bike thief

Mapsua Police arrested a person on charges of lifting bikes in Mapusa market on Wednesday.

The accused, Sagar Rathod (22) of Banda-Maharashtra was arrested and 2 stolen bikes were recovered from him.

According to police, a Hero Honda bike parked in an open parking place opposite Pednekar Jewellers in Mapusa market was stolen by unknown persons on January 8 at around 7.30 pm. Similarly, another Hero Honda bike parked in an open parking place in front of Braganza Hotel was stolen on January 10.

After conducting a detailed investigation, Mapusa Police zeroed in on the accused, nabbed him and brought him to the police station

Police disclosed that during investigation the accused admitted his involvement in the crime and also recovered both bikes from him.

He has been arrested under section 379 of the IPC and Mapusa Police is investigating the case.
