While most of the bars and restaurants in the heart of the city remained closed, a few outlets were open on the city outskirts.
A group of bar owners were seen going around the city to convince the owners to shut down and participate in the meeting scheduled at Taleigao in
the evening.
Longuinhos owner Ivo Coutinho told The Goan that it was decided to shut down the multi-cuisine restaurant on Wednesday in the wake of the call given by the bar and restaurant owners to keep the establishments closed
to attend the meeting at
Taleigao.
Longuinhos and a host of bars and restaurants in the commercial capital are facing closure in the wake of the Supreme Court order banning liquor outlets within 500 metres from the National and State highway.
Almost all the bars and liquor outlets in the heart of the commercial capital are facing the axe as both the National highway and the State highway cut through the commercial capital.
