In view of the serious concerns being raised about the method of repairs being undertaken for the Margao flyover, GOACAN got an assurance from Assistant Engineer PWD NH Rajesh Gaude that the Project Details Display board will be immediately installed.
In the last two days, GOACAN received a series of calls from road users about the kind of repairs being undertaken of the Margao flyover wherein after the cement concrete surface layer was removed, a hotmix layer was laid on the single lane of the flyover for which repairs is presently being undertaken.
GOACAN has demanded that the mandatory Project Details Display board for the Margao flyover repairs be installed giving details of the Executing Agency, Contractor Name & Address, Project costs, Timeline for Completion of the Project work and the Mobile Nos for contact in case of emergency. Also it was pointed out that the mandatory safety signage was not displayed along the flyover as a single lane is still being used and moreover by inter-state vehicles.
GOACAN has decided to conduct a weekly review of the works and has already requested KRCL Deputy General Manager Baban Ghate to visit the flyover in view of the new electrical lines being introduced below the flyover for the KRCL & SWR trains.
