The Margao police have achieved a breakthrough in the Rs two lakh theft case with the arrest three of three persons and recovery of the stolen property.
On November 5, the Margao police had received a complaint from Ghanashayam Kakodkar, Gogal, stating that unknown accused person/s effected entry into his storeroom near the MMC ground by breaking window grills and decamped with two big motors of “Siemens geared motor of 2 HP “ German make “ blue colour “ 3 phase electrical connection” and other small motors worth Rs 1,99,000 approximately.
After registering the offence, the Margao police headed by PI Sachin Narvekar constituted a team comprising PSI Stanley Gomes, which received information that one Sahil Patil and one Rupesh Saha who are from Old Station Road area, were seen loitering near the storeroom.
Both disclosed their involvement after they
were picked up and brought to the police station for questioning.
Accused Sahil Patil (22), a resident of Old Station Road, Margao, and native of Dadar-Maharashtra and Rupesh Saha (19)B of Old Station Road, Margao, were placed under arrest and the stolen property, which was hidden in an isolated building near Victor hospital, was recovered from them.
After they disclosed the name of another person as their accomplice, police arrested accused Sanath (23), resident of Old Station Road and native of Suratkal Mangaluru in Karnataka.
