Margao road to be named after Chris Perry

MARGAO

Legendary Goan musician Chris Perry will be honoured by the Margao Municipal Council by naming a road leading to his house at Borda after him.

The MMC also gave a nod to a proposal mooted by MMC Chairperson Babita Prabhudesai to name an avenue at Pajifond after noted Konkani writer and language activist Madhavi Sardesai.

The proposal to honour Chris Perry, who has been instrumental in composing music and songs sung by Goan Nightingale Lorna, was mooted by the councillor representing Borda ward, Glen Andrade.

During discussions, Andrade pointed out that the legendary musician will be given a befitting honour if the road leading to his house is named after him.

The proposal received instant support from the city fathers who gave their green signal to name the Borda road after Perry.
