Friday saw Covid cases again registering an increase in the commercial capital by around 100-odd cases, even as the Health department dispatched around 130 home-isolation kits to the Margao Urban Health Centre for distribution for those under home isolation.
The Margao UHC also witnessed a huge queue of people from Friday morning, but officials said the people were mostly frontline workers, who came to take the Covid jab.
While the health bulletin had shown a decline in cases on Thursday, taking even the Margao UHC officials by surprise, the bulletin on Friday recorded a rise in cases by around 102.
While the total cases registered in the jurisdiction of the Margao UHC was put at 2253 on Thursday, the cases touched 2355 on Friday, a spike in 102 cases on a single day, indicating that cases are yet to decline in the city, which had witnessed a spike of 304 cases in a single day earlier this week.
Meanwhile, the Margao UHC, which had run out of the home isolation kits for the last two days, has finally received around 130 kits on Friday. While the centre distributed the kits to the positive patients under home isolation, a few kits are still left with the centre, sources said.
The Margao UHC had received inquiries from hundreds of citizens for the home isolation kits following a spike in the number of cases.
