Mayem assault accused remanded
BICHOLIM: The JMFC Bicholim has remanded Harishchandra Mayekar of Chimulwada-Mayem to seven days in police custody after he was arrested on charges of injuring his cousin on November 26.
According to PSI Gaurish Parab, who is investigating the case, Harishchandra had allegedly wounded his cousin, Sanjay, with a thermocol cutter, during a site inspection of their property by Mayem panchayat authorities on November 26.
Sanjay sustained neck injuries and underwent treatment at Asilo Hospital in Mapusa, and he was discharged after two days.
The accused who was produced before the JMFC Bicholim and was remanded to seven days in police custody.
