PONDA: Members of three panchayats from Marcaim constituency have asked Art and Culture Minister Govind Gawde to apologise for his recent remarks against PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar and have demanded his removal from the cabinet.
Addressing a news conference in the city, Adpai-Durbhat panch member Mashal Adpaikar and other panch members denounced Gawde's allegations, claiming that people were aware about development works by Dhavalikar.
"We condemn the allegations by Art and Culture Minister Govind Gawde. It is understandable if allegations are levelled against each other during elections, but it is wrong to accuse a ministerial colleague. He should work to take the government's policy ahead and not indulge in indiscipline,” Adpaikar said.
Adpaikar demanded that Gawde be removed from the cabinet for his indiscipline. "The BJP should take the note of this and remove him from cabinet. If it fails to do so, we will decide our step during the Lok Sabha elections,” warned Adpaikar.
He claimed that Dhavalikar had brought central funds for development and nobody could term him as inefficient.
"Govind Gawde should inform the public how much funding he had brought for his departments. He is making allegations out of frustration as he has lost ground in Priol," he said.
Adpai-Durbhat Sarpanch Saruja Naik, Bandora Sarpanch Ajay Naik, Deputy Sarpanch Saloni Gawde, Panchas Waman Naik, Rajesh Naik, Ramchandra Naik, Madkai Sarpanch Deepa Naik and former panch member Santosh Phadate were present on the occasion.
