Sudin Dhavalikar from the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) said the party would stand by the Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM) reiterating their stand against funds to English medium schools.
“We are all for local languages and back BBSM and their demands. We are only for two languages: Konkani and Marathi and we do not want grants to be given to English medium schools,” he said.Speaking to media persons, Dhavalikar also pointed to the issue of MoI being discussed with Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar during a meeting. The Chief Minister however stood his ground and turned down any stoppage of grants to English medium schools.
MGP who are in coalition with the ruling party had also turned down questions on breaking alliance commenting that it would rather wait for the term to end and then see what course of action to take.
