Mickky questions new PDA plan, says Babush was stripped of TCP in 2005

Former Minister Mickky Pacheco has come out strongly against the government's plan to carve out a new PDA in North Goa to accommodate former TCP Minister Babush Monserrate, demanding to know how Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar can allow backdoor entry to Monserrate when he had stripped him of the Town and Country Planning portfolio in 2005 after the RP fiasco.

He also mounted a tirade on the TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai for mooting the proposal to bifurcate the North Goa Planning and Development Authority, saying that the government should have two TCP Ministers, one for North and South Goa if Sardesai cannot manage the portfolio.
Addressing the media on Thursday, Mickky demanded to know how a person who was stripped off the TCP portfolio around a decade ago is now being brought from the backdoor to head the proposed PDA.
"I was a member of the Parrika
r Cabinet when Babush was the TCP Minister. Babush was stripped of the portfolio because of the RP fiasco. Babush was not alone then to bring about changes in the RP. There were many others working behind the then TCP Minister to bring changes to the RP and who are not Ministers in the BJP-led coalition government," Mickky claimed and wondered whether efforts are being made to achieve what they could not do a decade ago.
He also took strong exception to TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai's move to remove Chief Town Planner, C Puttaraju from the post, saying "this only goes to show that Sardesai is not capable to handle the Town and Country Planning portfolio.
Instead of creating more PDAs, the TCP Minister should devote attention to finalise the regional plan at the earliest and give relief to Goans."
Questioning the move to carve out a new PDA in North Goa, Mickky feared that the move, if successful, will result in inclusion of many Salcete villages in the South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) in the future.
He also took potshots at the opposition parties in the State, seeking to know whether they are silent in attacking the government out of fear that their skeletons will keep tumbling out.
Sounding a warning to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, Mickky said the Chief Minister should be vigilant and not succumb to any blackmail or threats.
