Flamboyant former minister Mickky Pacheco is in trouble for his alleged threat to attack Subhash Velingkar over the statement on St Francis Xavier.
Pacheco has been summoned by the Fatorda police to appear before the station in-charge on Tuesday morning in connection with an inquiry. A day after the police came to his Betalbatim residence on Sunday evening to look out for him, Mickky made his presence felt at the Colva police station on Monday to find out the reasons why the men in uniform had visited his residence.
Even though the former minister was holed up at the Colva police station on Monday, he was summoned by the Fatorda police on Tuesday morning.
Mickky told the media that he had no idea why the police had summoned him to the Fatorda police station when he had not committed any offence.
“I had only warned the senior police officers that people like him would have no option than to attack Velingkar for disturbing the peace in the state and for bringing people onto the roads.
"So many people were inconvenienced by the road blockades erected by the people to protest against Velingkar’s statement. My children had reached home late because of the road blockade. What are the people supposed to do when Velingkar makes controversial statements and the police remain as silent spectators,” Mickky questioned.
