BICHOLIM
Over 100 mining dependents attached to Sesa Goa and Chowgule mines confronted Union Ayush Minister Shripad Naik and TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai claiming they had done little to get mining resumed in the State.
Naik and Sardessai along with Mayem MLA Praveen Zantye had gone to attend a function marking the beautification of Saptakoteshwar temple at Narvem-Bicholim on Saturday, when they were stopped by the mining dependents who sought to know why Naik could not fix an appointment with PM Narendra Modi on the mining issue.
Replying to their barrage of questions, Naik said he has been constantly trying to fix an appointment with the PM since the last six months and has been trying to resolve this issue since the last 10 months.
Naik said he was confident of getting an appointment with Modi very soon.
