PONDA
With no sign of mining resumption in the State, mining dependents have decided to meet Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar and MGP leaders in Ponda on Wednesday morning.
Goa Mining Peoples Front convenor Puti Gaonkar told The Goan that they would meet Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Tendulkar and MGP leaders to know about the status of efforts to resume mining in the State.
“We will gather in Ponda and meet Vinay Tendulkar. We will then proceed towards Mahalaxmi- Bandora to meet the MGP leaders,” Gaonkar said.
In March, the mining dependents had agitated in the Capital City blocking the highway and the police have now become cautious and are planning to tackle the meeting of mining dependents in Ponda.
Sources informed that mining dependents will call upon MGP President Deepak Dhavalikar and will seek his position if the government fails to resume mining
activity in the near future.
