Sancoale Sarpanch Ramakant Borkar on Thursday evening urged the Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho to take control of Cortalim Constituency to help the panchayats in the constituency undertake developmental works.
Borkar was speaking to the media after the inauguration of a restaurant Udupi Such Sagar at the hands of Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho in the presence of Sancoale Panch members .
Borkar further said that major issues of garbage in Sancoale Panchayat would be resolved soon and also that the new Panchayat Ghar would be a reality soon with the help of Panchayats Minister.
"We want to develop the entire belt and Panchayats minister should concentrate on the issue of this Panchayat because the area is developing . Earlier there were a lot of issues but ever since Godinho has taken interest, most of the issues including water supply, electricity and other basics have been resolved. We feel that Godinho must stress on the entire Cortalim Constituency because all tbe Panchayats in this constituency resolve their issues only with his help," said Borkar.
"Godinho with his style of functioning and deep rooted Knowledge of Cortalim Constituency also has great support and with his help panchayats in both the Dabolim and Cortalim constituency will benefit. Godinho knows every ward of Cortalim constituency and he must take charge of this constituency so that we can see some good development here," said Borkar
Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho said that garbage management was an important issue for every Panchayat.
"Chicalim and Sancoale Panchayats are doing a good job and I have just directed the Panchayat director to give an approval for a garbage treatment plant and also try and allot a bigger area of around 3,000 square metres so that a recovery shed can also be installed to gather dry waste and a catalytic convertor to tackle wet waste. Sancoale Panchayat will be putting up a bigger modern garbage treatment plant estimated at Rs1.5 crore. This is the flight path of planes and garbage issue is critical in both Chicalim and Sancoale Panchayats," said Godinho.
