Visitors to the places of worship, beware. Chances are that miscreants may lift your valuables left behind in the vehicle when you go to the churches, temples and mosques for worship.
A resident of Sao Jose de Areal realized the bitter truth when miscreants had the audacity to break open the car window with a stone to lift a purse containing cash and other documents such as ATMs, when she had gone to pray in the church.
A stone that was used to break open the window was found on the car seat.
Activist Freddy Travasso told the media that the miscreants damaged the car window to lay their lands on the purse containing cash and ATM cards. “The incident at Sao Jose de Areal is a wakeup call to the people to take care of their belongings as it is no longer safe to keep the valuables inside the vehicles”, he said.
He said people should stop leaving their valuables inside the vehicle while heading to the place of worship, including church, temple or mosque in view of the Sunday incident at Areal.
The Maina Curtorim police is investigating.
