CURCHOREM: Six trucks engaged in transportation of e-auctioned ore from Codli mines to Capxem were damaged after it came under heavy pelting of stones at Dhadem-Sanvordem on Wednesday evening.
The agitated truck owners have decided to congregate at Sanvordem-Tisk on Thursday at 7.30 am and stop ore transportation till their demands are met.
According to sources, about 25 trucks were transporting the e-actioned ore from Codli mines to Capxem, when some persons damaged six trucks at Dhadem.
About 70 local truck owners gathered at Sanvordem-Tisk and convened a brief meeting at about 6.30 pm.
When contacted, a local truck owner, Baburao Naik, said the truck owners have decided to gather at Sanvordem-Tisk on Thursday at 7.30 am. “The truck owners have decided to stop ore transport till our demands are met,” Naik added.
Later, about 50 truck owners and locals staged a bike rally from Sanvordem to Codli and back to create awareness among the locals regarding the ongoing issue.
Sources further informed that the truck owners and the locals did not contact any Codli mine officials.
