Missing man found dead

The body of a 42-year-old man, who was feared drowned in Tiracol river, was found floating in Tiracol river at Konadi-Pernem on Monday.

Pernem fire fighters retrieved the body of Chandrashekar Swar from the river and handed it over to Pernem Police.

According to Pernem Police, Swar was reported missing while bathing in Tiracol river at Nhaibag on Sunday and a police complaint was filed in this connection.

Pernem Police and Pernem fire officials launched search operations and the body was found floating in Tiracol river at Konnadi on Monday morning.

Police conducted the panchanama and later referred the body to the GMC Hospital in Bambolim for autopsy. Police is investigating the case.

No-trust move at Verla-CancaMAPUSA: Four panchas moved a no-confidence motion against Verla-Canca Sarpanch Milton Marques on Monday. The four signatories to the no-confidence motion are Deepali Bicholkar, Amita Korgaonkar, Mohan Dabhale and Ashok Bhaikar. The motion notice was submitted to the Mapusa BDO. The panchas claimed that the sarpanch was encouraging illegal matters in the panchayat area and was not taking them into confidence in panchayat affairs.
