CANACONA
The highly decomposed body of a 78-year-old woman from Nanem-Gaondongrim was found at the Gaunem Dam on Monday.
According to sources, a human body was noticed lying on the edge of Gaunem Dam in Gaondongrim and the police were notified.
Police found the body in a highly decomposed state and the deceased was identified as Pomu Gaonkar (78).
Gaonkar is reportedly missing from Nanem-Gaondongrim since the last couple of months and the family had, accordingly, filed a missing report with Canacona police.
Police recovered the body and sent it for a post-mortem to South Goa District Hospital Margao.
