MARGAO: The Colva Police in coordination with Collem Police caught a bike thief and recovered from his possession a stolen TVS scooter.
Police informed that the accused rider Sankar Kokate, a native of Dharwad-Karnataka was intercepted at the Collem Border Check Post on Monday and was arrested by Colva Police. The bike has been recovered.
An offence under Section 379 IPC was registered on February 8 at the Colva Police Station.
BICHOLIM A house was partially gutted in a fire at Maina-Navelim in Bicholim on Monday morning. The fire is reported to have started in the house of Dharma Naik due to a short circuit at about 10 am and the loss to property is estimated at Rs 50,000. A Bicholim fire tender along with locals manage to bring the fire under control.
