Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha, PWD officials and locals visited some affected areas in a bid to resolve water-related issues in the Cortalim constituency.
A group of residents from various areas in the constituency had earlier visited her office to highlight their water problems. PWD (Division IX) Executive Engineer Vishwamber Bende, Assistant Engineer Eknath Paste and Panch Nandita Dayal were also present at the meeting.
In a press release, Saldanha said the PWD engineers had taken note of the problems faced by the people and assured to resolve them.
“Some issues with respect to low pressure and lack of water in certain areas will be resolved at the earliest as the PWD staff will be deployed area-wise to detect the problems such as choking of pipes, leakages. These areas include Vidhyanagar colonies near MES college and at Mahalaxmi-Ganeshwadi and Housing Board colony in Upasnagar-Sancoale," stated Saldanha.
"Similarly, other proposals which include laying of new water pipelines and other water-related infrastructure which will take time will also be moved in areas viz Sagar Enclave, Rangavi Estate and Coelho Estate in Issorcim and Umiya Solicitude in Sancoale.”
