Aam Aadmi Party’s Velim MLA, Cruz Silva, has written to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant demanding immediate compensation for the family of the Rivona electrocution victims.
Silva has also asked for an urgent meeting with the Chief Minister, along with the family, to press for strict safety reforms to prevent such incidents in the future.
He stressed that the compensation process should be fast-tracked so that the bereaved family does not face delays while coping with their loss.
“The government must prioritise the safety of its citizens and implement all necessary reforms,” he said.
The MLA also demanded strict accountability for negligence and called for swift and compassionate action from the authorities.
Silva expressed deep sorrow over the incident, extended condolences to the Gaonkar family, and said he had personally visited them to assure AAP’s full support in this difficult time.
