MARGAO
With the 5TPD bio-methanation plant not giving the desired results for want of power supply, the Margao Municipal Council has decided not to issue work order for the remaining two 5TPD bio-methanation plants.
Chief Officer, Agnelo Fernandes told the media that his office will award the work order to the successful bidders to install the remaining two bio-methanation plants only after the existing plant gives the desired result.
“The municipality was never told that it will have to lay a cable and obtain a three-phase connection to run the plant. In the bargain, the lone 5TPD plant has not run to its full capacity for want of power supply. This should not have happened since the plant has not run to its optimum capacity for lack of electricity,” he said.
Agnelo added: “The municipality is not in a hurry to issue the work order for the remaining two plants. Even the High Powered Coordination Committee headed by CM has made it abundantly clear that the MMC should set up the remaining two bio-methanation plants only if the operation of the first plant is successful.”
