The engineering department of Mapusa’s civic body has compiled a report on the recent construction mishap in Gaunsavaddo-Mapusa, where damage to a septic tank of an adjacent apartment led to sewage overflow onto roads and residential properties.
The builder concerned has been cautioned and instructed to rectify the damaged septic tank at the site.
Chairperson of the Mapusa Municipal Council (MMC), Nutan Bicholkar disclosed that the engineering officials have surveyed the site and drafted the report pending her review.
“We have received the site report detailing the unfortunate incident at the construction site. The builder in question has been advised to proceed with repairs, and construction activities are to be halted until then,” Bicholkar stated.
Local residents have voiced their dissatisfaction with the civic body, criticising the blind issuance of licences to projects without proper procedural adherence.
