MCC, Chowgule to clash in finals

The ongoing 2nd Chandrakant Karapurkar Trophy witnessed two exciting semi-final matches at the SAG Fatorda ground.

In the first semi-final between MCC and CC Altinho, MCC won the toss and elected to bat.

Veteran Vaibhav Naik (52) top-scored for MCC as they were bowled out for 149 in 20 overs.

Chasing a modest target, CC Altinho crumbled against MCC's spin attack. Somesh Prabhudesai (4/23) and Heramp Parab (4/24) shared eight wickets as CC Altinho were bundled out for 100 in 17.5 overs.

In the second semi-final between Chowgule and Iqbal XI, Chowgule won the toss and put Iqbal XI in to bat.

Suraj Sawant (49) top-scored for Iqbal XI as they posted 167 for 8 in 20 overs. Amir Khedekar and Sanket Morajkar picked up two wickets each for Chowgule. In reply, Chowgule chased down the target with an over to spare.

Rohit Naik (50 off 21 balls) and Gaurav Desai (49 off 34 balls) played crucial knocks for Chowgule. Somesh Dodamani bagged two wickets for Iqbal XI.

The final will be played on April 28 at the SAG Fatorda ground at 1:30 pm.
