Sawaikar was addressing a meeting at Curchorem Municipal hall to celebrate three years of NDA government.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi always interacts with the people of the country via Mann ki Baat, which the Congress failed to do. People saw the development in Gujarat by Modi and elected him,” said Sawaikar.
Giving an example of Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan, he said Modi brought awareness about cleanliness and his vision is to make India garbage free and clean. “The BJP government has alloted Rs 12,000 crore to develop road connectivity in Goa, while 22 crore people opened their bank accounts and availed various government schemes,” he added.
Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral said: “Some people will criticise the BJP government and will try to mislead the people, but we must see the works and development done by the BJP government.”
BJP State President Vinay Tendulkar said it is appreciable of Curchorem people that they supported the BJP candidate in the assembly elections.
“Various infrastructure projects and allocation of funds to Goa were possible only because BJP government is at the Centre,” said Tendulkar.
