Money squandered for Panjim Smart City: GSM.THE GOAN NETWORKPORVORIM: Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) leader and candidate for the Panjim bypoll Subhash Velingkar claimed that a lot of money had been squandered under the pretext of development of Panjim Smart City, but no development had been witnessed in reality.“The Panjim Smart City project should have been on the verge of completion by now. The government should bring out a white paper on the Panjim Smart City to enlighten residents of Panjim about the progress of the work, the amount of money spent so far and the date by which the project will be completed,” said Velingkar. He was speaking to reporters in Porvorim after the conclusion of the GSM Karyakarta Melava at Swami Vivekanand Hall.Velingkar said the GSM would start its election campaign from Thursday by breaking a coconut at the samadhi of late Bhausaheb Bandodkar at Miramar. “GSM senior leaders and karyakartas will participate in the campaign. The Congress and BJP are two sides of the same coin. Both these parties are corrupt and will not do any development in Goa.”“Goa needs a local party which can provide a clean and transparent government and work for the benefit of Goenkars. Voters of Panjim are educated and hence, I am confident they will vote for me and provide an opportunity to GSM to serve Panjim city,” said Velingkar.
