Monsoon activity continued to remain weak with Goa receiving a mere 5.5 mm of rainfall on Monday while the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted no much change in the rainfall pattern for the next four days.
However, the IMD has predicted increased rainfall activity in the State from June 24 onwards.
“Goa is expected to receive light to moderate rain/thundershowers at most places from June 20 to 23,” the IMD bulletin said.
In the last 24 hours, Quepem and Ponda received 16 mm and 15 mm rainfall respectively followed by Margao (11 mm). Canacona received just 2.4 mm while Mapusa received no rains during the same period.
The average cumulative rainfall in the State from June 1 to 19 was 173 mm as against normal average of 532.9 mm indicating a deficit of 67.5 mm rainfall.
Meanwhile, the weather continued to remain hot in the State with Panaji recording a maximum temperature of 33.5 degree Celsius even as humidity stood at 91 percent.
There was no port or high wave warning along the Maharashtra-Goa coast.
