A total of 14 families that were affected by the new airport planned at Mopa were given rehabilitation packages on Friday. 15 youth affected by the project were also given offer letters for jobs by GMR, which is building the airport. The packages and the offer letters were distributed at the hands of Chief Minister Manohar parrikar and local MLA and minister Manohar Ajgaonkar. The said 15 youth will be included in the airport project as skilled and unskilled workers. While 12 people are being hired as field assistants, others will receive jobs as drivers, technical assistants and assistants in other areas of work.
Meanwhile, chief secretary Dharmendra Sharma has asked all government departments to handle applications related to Mopa project on top priority.
