Ten more nominations were filed for the upcoming elections to the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) on Saturday, taking the total number of nominations to 20 till date.
While two candidates had filed three nominations on Wednesday, seven candidates filed their nominations on Thursday. After the holiday on Good Friday, ten persons filed their nominations on Saturday.
Prominent among the candidates to file their nominations on Saturday included former MMC chairperson and social activist Tara Kerkar from Ward 21. Prior to the new reservations, Kerkar had earlier filed her nomination from Ward 22, which is now reserved for OBC.
Others who filed their nominations on Saturday included Pranita Khorjuwekar (Ward 1), social activist Jayesh Shetgaonkar (Ward 4), Sonam Tari (Ward 11), Surendra Chodankar, Ashok Chodankar and Nana Gogle (Ward 12), Parshuram Madar and Aditya Yadav (Ward 17) and Preetika Borkar (Ward 20).
