The GMC subway is the only way for motorists arriving from the Merces-Santa Cruz highway to gain access to the hospital.
However, one lane of the subway has developed huge potholes and gets filled with water during rains, making it a risky proposition for motorists, especially two-wheeler riders, to cross that lane.
A visit to the subway revealed that most two-wheeler riders preferred to take the wrong lane to cross safely to the other side of the subway, to avoid the water-filled potholes on the other lane.
However, many are unaware of the danger and take the water-filled potholed lane, risking an accident as the potholes are hardly visible. Many two-wheeler riders were seen struggling to cross to the other side of the subway.
