Motorists have been struggling in different parts of Pernem, after rainwater flooded several stretches of roads in the taluka.
While many have blamed the PWD for failure to repair the potholes, some have even recalled that Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte had promised two months ago that roads in his constituency would be repaired before the monsoon, but no action has been taken so far.
Rainwater has filled a pothole along the main Ashwem-Mandrem road, while the roadside gutters have been blocked in Nuewada-Morjim, leading to the flooding of the road during the recent rains.
Locals have claimed that construction works are in full swing along the main Morjim road and construction material has been placed by the roadside, leading to the blocking of the roadside gutters.
They have now requested the Morjim panchayat and other authorities to resolve the problem before it turns worse during the monsoon season.
