Haj Committee Chairman Urfan Mulla has strongly criticised Goa Congress President Amit Patkar over his remarks against Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.

In a statement, Mulla said Patkar should remember that when UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi was unwell, she was admitted to a private hospital, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. He noted that no BJP leader questioned the credibility of government hospitals built during the Congress tenure at that time. Instead, leaders, including the Prime Minister, expressed concern and enquired about her health.

Mulla said Patkar’s remarks appear to be a cheap publicity stunt and added that such insensitive comments, especially on health issues, are not appreciated.

He further said Patkar needs proper guidance from his leader Rahul Gandhi on what to say and when to speak.

Mulla stressed that health matters should never be politicised and urged all leaders to maintain dignity and avoid unnecessary comments on such sensitive issues.
