Showroom employee booked for Rs 12.95 lakh fraud in Chicalim

A case of alleged financial fraud has come to light at a vehicle showroom in Chicalim, where an employee is accused of selling vehicles without permission and keeping the money for personal use.

Following a complaint by Kiran Kamat, senior manager of Sai Service, Chicalim, Vasco police have registered a case against Antush Bhatkal, a Vasco resident who worked as a vehicle evaluator for True Value at the showroom.

According to the complaint, the incident took place between November 2025 and February 2026. Bhatkal, who was responsible for evaluating, handling, selling vehicles and collecting payments, is alleged to have misused his position to carry out fraudulent transactions.

He is accused of selling vehicles to brokers without authorisation and diverting the sale proceeds for his own use. The total amount involved is estimated at Rs 12,95,000.

Vasco police have registered an offence under Section 316 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Further investigation is being carried out by PSI David Costa under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
