Murder accused remanded further
PONDA: Sidharth Miringkar (44) of Dhavali-Ponda, who was arrested on January 15, in connection with the murder of Bramhanand Mamlekar from Ponda, has been remanded to a further five days in police custody.
Collem police informed that he was produced before the JMFC at Sanguem on Wednesday evening.
It may be recalled that Mamlekar was found murdered at Tambdisurla on January 8. Mamlekar was stabbed with a knife and his head was found smashed. The dead body was found 20 meters from the main road along the riverbank at Tambdi-Surla.
The deceased person was missing from January 4, and a missing complaint was lodged at the Ponda police station on January 5.
Collem police sources informed The Goan that they are investigating if any other person is also linked in the murder.
