The Goa State Cooperative Bank (GSCB) in association with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) on Thursday organised a ‘Financial Literacy Centre' camp for Self-Help Groups in Ponda.
Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) Vice Chairperson Shantaram Kolvekar was the chief guest, while NABARD Manager Sushil Naik, GSCB manager Mamata Naik, Sudesh Narvekar and others were present at the event.
In his address, Kolvekar appealed to SHG's to avail of several schemes under NABARD to enable them boost their business and also advised them to opt for cashless systems offered by banks.
Sushil Naik informed them about several schemes and training programmes. "We can help you to take a shop on rent for up to Rs 5000. This will help you display your products and sell them," he said. Sudesh Narvekar provided details on documents required for KYC, (know your costumer), current account and recurring deposits.
