Nand Ghar opens in Netravali
BICHOLIM: Sanguem MLA Subhash Phaldessai recently inaugurated Goa’s second ‘Nand Ghar’ a Vedanta project, at Zakem-Netravali.
Rivona ZP member Navnath Naik, Netravali Sarpanch Shashikant Gaonkar and Zakem Panch Geeta Gaonkar were present along with ICDS programme officer Mala Gadkar and head operations - IOG, Vedanta Joseph Coelho.
Phaldessai said, “We congratulate Vedanta for setting up the 'Nand Ghar' project in Netravali which will promote angawadi infrastructure and facilitate learning. This is a unique concept which will attract more parents to enroll their children who otherwise will have to spend a lot of money to seek admission in private pre-primary schools.”
Geeta Gaonkar said, “The Nand Ghar model would provide targeted delivery of supplementary nutrition services along with related healthcare services for both, mother and child, including skill training for women.” Mala Gadkar said healthy children and empowered women will eradicate poverty and malnutrition. Coelho said, “The Nand Ghar project centres are devoted to child education, women welfare and skill development."
