Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Thursday informed media that a new electric hydropump was arranged and that the operations to remove naphtha from the grounded ship MT Nu Shi Nalini would commence on Saturday.

Sawant was speaking to reporters after attending a high level review meeting with various departments in MPT.

“ I have come to MPT for another review meeting after the hydraulic pump was dropped to the sea while being transported to the grounded ship MT Nu Shi Nalini by naval helicopter on Wednesday. We have arranged an electric hydropump for naphtha offloading operations,” said Sawant.

“This hydropump will now be placed on board another barge that will be at the side of the grounded ship. With the help of this hydropump, we will remove the naphtha from the grounded ship and shift it to the barge with tanks that are made available for this operations”, he said.
