Normal life remained unaffected in the State despite a nationwide bandh call by central trade and labour unions with transportation services as well as banks remaining unaffected by the strike call.
Save for the protest march in the morning, it didn’t appear as a bandh in the State.
Earlier on Thursday, the Private Bus Owners had announced that they would not join the strike and keep their services operational. The trade union of the Kadamba Transport Corporation too didn’t join the strike. Schools too remained unaffected as did operations in most industrial units in the State.
Responding to the low impact of Friday's strike, the All India Trade Union Congress on Friday said the aim was not to bring a halt to everything in the State but to protest against the government’s alleged anti-labour policies.
