SALIGAO: Porvorim Police arrested a man on charges of abusing and obstructing Penha de Franca Sarpanch Radhika Sawant while discharging her lawful duties.

Sarpanch Sawant had filed a complaint with Porvorim Police stating that the accused, Uday Gawas, and another person abused and obstructed her while performing her lawful duties on Friday at about 4.10 pm.

Police registered the offence under Sections 504, 353 read with 34 of Indian Penal Code against Uday Gawas and arrested him. PSI Sarvesh Gaddi is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Jivba Dalvi.
