Naval employee killed in Vasco road mishap

A 31-year-old naval employee was killed in a self-accident at Vasco late Thursday night.

Sources in Vasco police said that the deceased, Rohit Choudhary, was going home from Vasco on his Pulsar bike at around 11.30 pm when he met with the accident.

"The deceased was staying at INS Hansa along with his family. While he was going home, it began raining and he applied brakes. The bike however skidded and he banged on the road divider along the Swatantra Path near HQ hotel and was grievously injured in the accident,” said a source.

“Choudhary was shifted to the hospital but was declared brought dead at Chicalim Sub District Hospital. Vasco police conducted panchanama and the body was shifted to GMC. The body was handed over to his family after conducting the post-mortem.”

PSI Mayur Sawant of Vasco police station is carrying out a further investigation under the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
