Healthcare services in Navelim have received a boost following Health Minister Vishwajit Rane’s visit to the constituency and his interaction with residents at the ‘Aangan Ki Seva’ women’s convention held at Rumdamol under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.

Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuenkar said the Navelim Primary Health Centre (PHC) has started round-the-clock services, with one doctor and four nurses deployed. A new 108 ambulance and essential medical equipment have also been provided to strengthen patient care.

Rane had directed the Health Department to keep the PHC open 24 hours a day in response to demands raised during the convention. Tuenkar inaugurated the round-the-clock service and the new ambulance at the centre on Tuesday.

More than 1,000 women attended the convention, during which Rane heard their concerns regarding healthcare, the Griha Aadhar and Ladli Laxmi schemes. He also announced an increase in financial assistance under the Griha Aadhar scheme.

The minister subsequently visited eight bedridden patients at their homes. After noticing that two patients were sleeping on the floor, he arranged beds for them, which were delivered the following day. An oxygen concentrator was provided to one patient and a wheelchair to another.

Tuenkar thanked Rane for responding to residents’ needs and said the initiatives would strengthen emergency and doorstep healthcare in the

constituency.
