A 22-year-old man from Nepal, living in Marna-Siolim, died and two others were injured after their scooter crashed at Sonarkhed in the early hours of Thursday.
Police said the mishap occurred around 3 am. Bibek Choudhary (22), Pawan Chaudhary (24) and Sagar Chaudhary (32) were riding triple seat, with Sagar driving. While going downhill, he lost control. The scooter struck a compound wall and then hit a parked two-wheeler.
They were taken to the Siolim Primary Health Centre and later to the Mapusa District Hospital, where Bibek died. Police said Sagar had no licence.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
