New building of Tuem school inspected
PERNEM: Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar conducted an inspection of construction work of new primary school at Murmuse-Tuem.
The primary school was started in the quarters of Tuem Primary Health Centre in 2002 with about 50 students, but it lacked basic amenities. Later, some parents and villagers took up the issue of the school with the chief minister, who in turn took the initiative to construct a new state-of-the-art primary school at Murmuse-Tuem.
Speaking to the school teachers and parents during the inspection, Parsekar appealed to them to admit their children in the new primary school and increase the number of students from 50 to 100.
The new primary school will be constructed by GSIDC at a cost of Rs 2.20 crore.
Tuem Sarpanch Prajkta Kannaik, Deputy Sarpanch Vilasini Naik, Panchas Swati Harmalkar and Shyam Harmalkar, teachers and parents were present.
