While GSIDC is working round the clock to renovate the abandoned police quarters building at Arlem to meet the deadline, sources said the ongoing election code may come in the way of the formal inauguration of the police station on Independence Day.
With the election authorities extending the code of conduct to the entire state in view of the by-poll for the Panjim and Valpoi Assembly constituencies, inaugurating the new Fatorda Police station on August 15 may be ruled out, sources said. However, the TCP Minister is personally monitoring the progress of the work at the police station building as he made a surprise visit to Arlem during the weekend to take stock of the progress of work.
